African Tribal Art

African Masks and Figures Special Interest Group

African people have left many statements in our history that take us to the strongholds of the finest arts and statues ever created. At the many African museums, you will find hand carved elephants, hippos, African animals, couples, dancers, wedding statues, lions, birds, horses, and other arts that will leave a lasting impression.

I am myself collecting African Tribal Art for more than 5 years. We like to form a group of collectors who are dedicated to this kind of fantastic art. Unfortunately many of the valuable pieces are now in the museum. Just to show a short spectrum:

Dogon Mask from my collection

Some of the popular statues are the lovely African couples that are balanced evenly and hand carved to set off this elegant work of art. The statues are pretty tall. Enclosed 2 examples from Dogon and Chowkwe tribes

African art and statues bring you close to nature with the elegantly hand carved animals. This statue takes on an artistic appeal with its natural colors that give you a mixture of nice highlights. The statue takes you on a tour to Africa game reserves or to a field early in the morning as you witness the nature.

You will find many more works created by Master Art Sculptors. Many of the them were hand carved decades ago.

African arts relate to all parts of African people, its continent, languages, or cultures. When you see the natural works of arts, you will feel the sensational passions of the African people, animals, country, etc, all come alive in the form of art.Artists over the years have created lovely sceneries with fine shaded accents. One of the most elegant elegant statues is that portray holding a bird on the head. The artwork brings you a unique combined piece with a variety of colour shades.
